Martians Clip Five O's, 4-3, in R2 Contest
Behind a bravura effort from starter Jared Vanderford, the Moonbeam Martians topped the Oconomowoc Five O's by the score of 4-3 and got their first win in the 2064 League Championship Series. Vanderford threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the Martians. The win moves Moonbeam into a 1-1 tie with Oconomowoc.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the seventh. That's when Martians left fielder Jamie Markley hit a screwball from Rodolfo Alarcon for a 2-run single. Just like that, Moonbeam was up, 4-3.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Markley.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 22nd , 2064 at Arnold Field in Oconomowoc.
