Cowboys Clip Freeze, 2-1, in R2 Contest
|
The Calgary Cowboys and the Minneapolis Freeze will take the Triple A World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Cowboys beat the Freeze, 2-1, at Cowboys Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Calgary right-hander Chris Haines had a big role in the win. He threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball.
Calgary took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Chris Cassell hit a clutch solo home run to bring Cowboys fans to their feet.
Cassell said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cowboys Field in Calgary.
