Eagle Rock Wins, 3-2, Over Warriors
The Eagle Rock Ridge Runners earned a close win over the Walnut Creek Warriors, thanks in part to Jason Sanders. The Eagle Rock right-hander, who finished 4th in the RCL in ERA with 2.23 in 2058, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Eagle Rock reliever Matt Grunza was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Efrain Gutierrez. The Ridge Runners are now 26-35.

Eagle Rock used the timely hitting of Jon Pyne to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ridge Runners on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Ridge Runners manager Paco Berroa.
