The Buffalo Bison went down to defeat to Malik Combs and his El Paso teammates. The final score was 7-2, in favor of the Mavericks. The third-place Mavericks are 37-34.

El Paso used the timely hitting of Matt Griffin to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mavericks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Griffin.
