Timms Excels in 10-3 Cairo Win
|
The Cairo Pharaohs downed the Havana Stogies, 10-3, the largest share of the credit belonging to center fielder Riley Timms. On the day, Timms was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 6 for the Pharaohs. Cameron Mutton, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Curt Gangemi. The win gives the Pharaohs a record of 3-4.
With Cairo leading 4-0 in the bottom of the third, Timms came up to bat against Havana pitcher Curt Gangemi. Timms hit a curveball to right for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Pharaohs on top, 8-0.
"When you don't put the pitches where they're supposed to be, they hit you hard," said Havana skipper Taylor Hillary.
