Warriors Win by Slim Margin, 5-4
Walnut Creek beat Eagle Rock at Castlerock Field, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Bobby Harper. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Walnut Creek reliever Justin Gillen picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Jimmy LaPointe was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was Ray Clemens, his 21st.

Had Miguel Lopez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lopez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Warriors.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Eagle Rock manager Paco Berroa. "But we decided not to take it."

With the victory, the Warriors upped their record to 44-29.
