Ridge Runners Stumble, Lose to Warriors
The first-place Walnut Creek Warriors took on the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners in front of a spirited crowd.

The Walnut Creek Warriors outclassed the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 8-2, at Castlerock Field. Kevin McArdle, who finished 2nd in the RCL in wins above replacement with 5.6 in 2063, was a major contributor for Walnut Creek. McArdle went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Willie Borrero. He tossed 96 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.

With Walnut Creek leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, McArdle hit a splitter from Khalil Haywood for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 3-0.

"We had a nice day," said Walnut Creek skipper Armando Medina.

The Warriors now have a record of 45-29 with the win over Eagle Rock.
