Warriors Best Tornadoes in Pitching Duel
|
The Walnut Creek Warriors beat the Kansas City Tornadoes, 2-0, at Castlerock Field. Starting pitcher David Godinez was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Walnut Creek is now 51-22. Kansas City is 28-46.
Walnut Creek right fielder Dan Edwards contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 69th hit of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 1-0.
"David is a tough competitor," said Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina.
