The San Francisco Earthquakes blasted the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 17-2, at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco left fielder Junior Leeney had a productive day. He was 4-6 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. San Francisco now owns a record of 37-36.

Leeney contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for San Francisco in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Leeney took a changeup from David Baxley and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Earthquakes to leap in front, 3-2.

Eagle Rock manager Paco Berroa called the pummeling "nothing to write home about."
