Honu Grind Out 1-0 Win
|
Jose Medrano, who is tied for 8th in the TML in innings pitched with 100.1, had a strong outing for the Hawaii Honu against the Chicago Eclipse at Millennium Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 1-0 win. Medrano, now 3-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Karl Molnar earned the save, his 13th.
Sandy Rosales, who is tied for 2nd in the TML with a .366 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Rosales contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Hawaii up, 1-0.
"Jose pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Hawaii manager Naoki Okada.
The defeat makes Chicago 43-33.
