Tornadoes Need Extra Innings to Top Eclipse, 6-4
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes picked up a win at Millennium Field, downing the Chicago Eclipse, 6-4, in 11 innings. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Monty Brewster, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Tornadoes improved their record to 35-31 with the win over Chicago.
Emeril Ferrario came through with a big-time hit for Kansas City. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Said Kansas City manager Todd Belcher: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
