Vancouver Beats Chicago, 5-2

Vancouver took on Chicago in front of a lively crowd.
Vancouver turned a good effort from starter Nick Galea into a win over the Chicago Eclipse at Millennium Field. The Pioneers won the game, 5-2. The winner was Galea. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Chris Titus. Joey Tino notched his 5th save in 6 chances.
Vancouver used a clutch at-bat from Tom Pottle to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Galea said.
The first-place Eclipse dropped to 44-32.
