Greg Hobson pitched a gem to lead San Francisco to victory over the Montreal Jazz, 7-0. The winner was Hobson. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Oscar Alfaro. Rosario Lulli closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Junior Leeney. For the game, Leeney was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 3-0 lead.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Hobson. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
