The Downsview Mustangs pounded the Billings West Golden Bears, 16-0, at Guadalajara HS Grounds. Downsview left fielder Arthur Lynch had a game-changing performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Downsview pitcher Bob Connolly got the win, upping his record to 5-0. Dave Thees got the loss. Wynn Backstrom was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Randy St.john had a big 3-run home run for the Mustangs in the top of the third inning. With Downsview leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from 14-year old left-handed pitcher Dave Thees and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Mustangs on top, 6-0.

"Not much went right for us," Billings West manager Bill Conklin said, when asked afterward about the game.

Downsview now has a record of 17-13 with the win.
