Whitney Sensational for Chargers
Starting pitcher Kory Whitney fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Topeka West Chargers stymie the George Washington Patriots, 7-1. The Chargers improved to a lofty 21-9.

The Chargers liked what they saw from Whitney. The 14-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Patriots to no runs on 1 hit over 5.2 innings, and striking out 9.

"Kory looked like he had more finish on his ball," said Topeka West manager Walt Muller.
