Chicago Decked, 5-2, by Earthquakes
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes stymied the Chicago Eclipse, 5-2, at Golden Gate Park. Geoff Raines had a good day at the plate. He went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for San Francisco. The winner was San Francisco reliever Jeff Agin, now 5-7. The loser was Joe McKnight. Dakson Rocket, who finished 3rd in the TML in saves with 35 last year, nailed down the save.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Raines hit a fastball from Joe McKnight for a run-scoring double. It was his 20th double of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 2-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said San Francisco manager Zayar Adelabu.
With the win over Chicago, the Earthquakes improved to 38-45.
