Pangle Holds Havana Scoreless
Friday, August 1st , 2064
The Havana Stogies manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Kansas City Tornadoes. The Stogies were overpowered by Kansas City starter Ryan Pangle, who hurled his club to victory, 10-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Taylor Hillary said.
Over 9 innings, Pangle blanked Havana on 5 hits with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Pangle said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Pangle has made 21 starts this season, posting 11 wins and 8 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .271 against him and he has 111 strikeouts in 144.1 innings with a 4.99 ERA.
