Milwaukee-Hawaii Fight Results in Suspensions
Thursday, September 18th , 2064
Yesterday at Aloha Stadium Chris Schauder and Jose Medrano got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Milwaukee Millers and Hawaii Honu. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Schauder will have to sit out 4 while Medrano would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
Thus far this season in 81 games, Schauder is batting .296 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 87 hits in 294 at-bats.
This season, Medrano has rung up 7 wins and 12 losses in 29 games. He has an ERA of 5.37 and has fanned 113 batters in 166 innings.
