Van Winkle Honored by TML AAA Monday, May 5th , 2064 Indianapolis fans have something to crow about today as Indianapolis first baseman Rich Van Winkle nabbed the TML AAA Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Van Winkle. He posted a .520 average (13-for-25) this past week with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. This year, Van Winkle is hitting .413 with 6 home runs. |
