5-for-6 Game for Hoekstra
Monday, May 26th , 2064
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Joplin's 8-7 win over Minneapolis, left fielder Bret Hoekstra was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at The Ice Box.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Hoekstra said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Bret Hoekstra singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th.
So far this year, Hoekstra is hitting .306 with 4 home runs.
