Cats End Paiz Streak
Saturday, July 26th , 2064
It was the best of both worlds for the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field, as they defeated the Cozumel Beaches, 4-1, and also snapped Antonio Paiz's 22-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Cozumel left fielder failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat.
"Nothing personal against Paiz, we just wanted to win the game," said Cats skipper Dudha Goli. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Paiz frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
Paiz on the season is hitting .332 with 16 home runs. His stats include 53 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
