Lee Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Friday, September 5th , 2064
Bowling Green right fielder Russell Lee went down swinging at Stars Field, knocking out 5 hits even as his Racers fell, 10-9.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Lee said after his 5-for-5 performance against the State College Swallowtails. "No offense meant to State College, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Lee spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Lee agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Russell Lee hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Currently Lee is hitting .314 and has collected 19 home runs, 57 RBIs and scored 65 times, while playing in 99 games.
