Coal Miners Win League Championship Series Crown Tuesday, October 28th , 2064 For the Antioch Coal Miners, it was a joyful time; for the Calgary Hitmen, it was gloom and doom. With a 9-6 win at Mckinley Park, Antioch closed out the championship 4-3 over Calgary. The Coal Miners have now won their 10th league championship in franchise history. The streets around the Coal Miners' stadium were a mob scene, filling quickly with fans, while banners and flags were held high and waved proudly. "It's unbelievable for us, our great fans, and all of Antioch," said a smiling owner The owner of the Antioch Coal Miners. "The guys really put their heart and soul into this season and it paid off for them." In a somewhat somber and dejected Hitmen clubhouse, manager Brandon Ashley said his team "just didn't get the job done." "The Coal Miners played as good as any team I've seen and deserve to be champions," he said. The champs finished the regular season 98-64 and claimed first place in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League.
