Alex Saxton Out for Season Friday, May 9th , 2064 Alex Saxton of the Panthers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 19-year-old Charleston starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the San Angelo Mustangs recently at Franklin Mountains Field. Saxton suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch. The Panthers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 11-12 months. On the season, Saxton has compiled a 0-3 mark with a 6.23 ERA in 5 starts. In pitching 26 innings he has 9 strikeouts and 11 walks while limiting the opposition to a .324 batting average. |
