Monster 3-HR Day for Villarreal Sunday, July 13th , 2064 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Miguel Villarreal had an outstanding day at Stable Park for the Hazleton Birdwings, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Birdwings fell to the Kingwood Knights, 10-8. Villarreal had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 21-year-old center fielder banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 5 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Birdwings were not able to hold off the Knights. "Baseball is a funny game," Villarreal said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Miguel Villarreal flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ricky Morales in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ricky Morales in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Antonio Adame in the 8th. In his 2064 season totals, Villarreal has 12 home runs, .265 BA, .388 OBP, 42 RBIs and 55 runs scored. |
