Hit Streak for Whitney Reaches 20 Friday, October 3rd , 2064 John Whitney continued his streak at Elks Stadium, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Okanagan left fielder was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Lake Monsters were not as fortunate, losing, 10-7, to the Oconomowoc Five O's. "Whitney was hitting everything we threw at him," said Oconomowoc manager Jorge Murillo. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." John Whitney walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Whitney is batting .352 with 192 hits and 34 home runs. He has scored 130 times and has batted in 122 runs. |
