Clark on Fire: Burns Tulane with 3 HR
Tuesday, April 18th , 2062
Hitting three home runs in a game is usually something to celebrate, but there was no celebration to be found at Berthoud College Grounds after the hitting barrage from Seth Clark. The Stanford Cardinals dropped the contest, 10-9, to the Tulane Green Wave, leaving Clark with only a historical footnote as consolation.
Seth is blessed with a natural home run swing so he gets the ball up in the air real quickly," Stanford manager Dave Stoner said after the loss. "It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him."
Along with putting three in the stands, Clark went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," he told reporters after the game. "Mostly you'll fail if you really try to hit one, but today I tried on the last one."
Seth Clark hit a two-run home run off Adrian Pasquali in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Adrian Pasquali in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Nelson Serrano in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Clark has collected 33 hits for the Cardinals this year, 14 of them home runs. He has also netted 37 RBIs and scored 25 runs while batting .330.
