Schweitzer on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Thursday, May 4th , 2062
Kyle Schweitzer did everything he could for the Texas Longhorns -- literally.

The 20-year-old second baseman hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Longhorns, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Texas A&M Aggies, 13-8, at Sooners Ballpark.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Schweitzer reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Schweitzer banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 4 runs batted in and 4 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Kyle Schweitzer hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Stephen Wider in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

This year, Schweitzer is hitting at a .351 pace with 8 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 39 games and scored 51 times.
