Rhodes, Durrell Suspended for Fracas Friday, May 19th , 2062 After an intense confrontation, both the Cardinals Chris Rhodes and the Mustangs Joey Durrell were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Kearny High-San Marin game. Chris Rhodes will miss 5 games, while Joey Durrell was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Chris Rhodes commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Rhodes is hitting .299 this year with 9 home runs and 38 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .445, 50 walks and scored 47 times. Checking out his stats for the season, Durrell has notched no wins and 5 losses in 12 starts. His ERA is 11.23 and he's struck out 49 batters in 37.2 innings. |
