Boca Raton Hexed: No-Hit by Mayo Friday, August 10th , 2063 In a brilliant performance at Scripps Field, Easton pitcher Dave Mayo entered an elite group by tossing a no-hitter against the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas. In the effort, he fanned 13 and walked 8, leading the Caterpillars to victory, 1-0. "I was getting my off-speed stuff over so they couldn't sit on the fastball," Mayo said in the clubhouse after the game. "My guys made some nice plays behind me and cut off several hits, too." Up to now Mayo has compiled an ERA of 2.98 with a 5-4 mark over 12 starts. He has 85 strikeouts in 81.2 innings and has held opponents to a .212 batting average. View Boxscore View Game Log |
