Jones Shuts Out Easton, 7-0
Thursday, September 13th , 2063
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Easton Caterpillars as starter Jim Jones shut them out, 7-0, at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker. The Sylva pitcher struck out 13 and walked 2 while allowing 5 hits.
"Jones was good but he wasn't flawless," Easton manager Mekonnen Asani said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Sylva, but this is on us."
For the season, Jones has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 10-5 won-lost mark and a 3.50 ERA. In pitching 108 innings, he has totaled 132 strikeouts and 80 walks.
