Paradise Island Halts Ducrocq's Hitting Steak Tuesday, June 3rd , 2064 Thimotée Ducrocq came rolling into today's game against the Paradise Island Pirates with a 22-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Predator Park. The 21-year-old Normal Nutcrackers second baseman went 0-for-4 against the Pirates as the Nutcrackers fell, 1-0. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." Ducrocq is hitting .451 for the season with 10 home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 51 at-bats and played in 14 games. |
