Nieves Goes 5-for-6
Thursday, September 18th , 2064
David Nieves of the Cardinals was unstoppable in his team's 20-6 victory over the Sedona Sabercats at Denis Coderre Stadium. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Montreal second baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
David Nieves hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Tony Ramirez in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
To date Nieves has chalked up a .493 average with 18 home runs, driven in 135 runs and scored 149 times.
