The Fraser Valley Black Bears got a stellar effort from pitcher Edwin Vitales, helping Fraser Valley score a 3-1 win over the visiting Riverside Red Bulls. Miguel Covarrubias was called on to finish, recording his 12th save. Fraser Valley currently is in 4th place in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division at 24-23.
Fraser Valley took a 2-1 lead on Dusty Travis's 11th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Travis hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Riverside pitcher Ernesto Suriel shaking his head.
"We had a good game plan," Vitales said, "and we were able to execute it."
