The Riverside Red Bulls picked up a win at Conduit Caverns, knocking off the Cape Verde Vesuvius, 5-2. Starting pitcher Alastair Martin, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Dave Suther picked up the save, his 2nd. The first-place Red Bulls, at 86-49, now lead their division by 10 games.

Riverside used the timely hitting of Chris Ayers to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Red Bulls on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Riverside manager Sean Bergeron. "Our pregame was pretty good."
