Figueroa Finds Groove in 10-2 Triumph
St. Paul pitcher Juan Figueroa did his part in helping his team beat the Chippewa River Chiefs, 10-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. St. Paul, now 49-40, holds second place in the TMLA Dick Williams Division.

Figueroa, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 12 in 9 innings and gave up 2 earned runs.

Figueroa, who is tied for 3rd in the TA with a 3 complete games, moves to 4-0 on the year with 59 strikeouts.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Figueroa told the St. Paul Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
