| Sting Drop Another One | In a close game at Woodland Park, the Tree City Black Squirrels edged the Houston Sting, 4-3. Tree City shortstop Ryan Hampton earned the nod as player of the game. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tree City reliever Cory Kieck picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Perry Maniscalco was saddled with the loss. The Sting, at 64-62, have lost 7 in a row.
Hampton had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Black Squirrels went on to win.
"Put this one in the bank," said Hampton afterward.
