Texans Suffer 12-0 Drubbing from Slice Thursday, August 30th , 2057 Magic was in the air and on the mound at Copps Park today as Tom Simmons held the Dallas Texans spellbound in his 12-0 shutout victory. The Manhattan Slice pitcher went the distance, rang up 7 strikeouts, walked 3 and held the Texans to 2 hits to garner the win. "He just had us in his thrall," Dallas manager Gary Stoy said later. "We couldn't put anything together against him." Thus far this season, Simmons has tossed 192.2 innings in 28 starts, fanned 191 batters, walked 49 and put up a 2.62 ERA with 15 wins and 9 losses.
