Beaumont Drillers starter Brian Taylor found his groove in his team's 4-2 win over the Wichita Wolverines. Taylor yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-15. The Drillers improved to 60-81.
Joe Phelan, who is tied for 2nd in the RAA in home runs with 27, had a direct impact on the outcome. Phelan contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Beaumont up, 4-2.
