Skipper Encarnación Is Out in Black Mountain

"In his time here in Black Mountain, Mario Encarnación has been an important part of our organization," read this morning's press release issued by the Mountaineers. "But it's time for us to try a different direction. We informed Encarnación yesterday that he would no longer be managing the Black Mountain Mountaineers and thanked him for his service."
The club wished Encarnación future success, but was vague about the timetable for finding his replacement.

Skipper McColgan's Goose Cooked -- Fired in Louisiana

Most people are upset, frustrated, or depressed upon learning they have been fired. But not Peter McColgan.
Today he was fired as the manager of the Louisiana Crocodiles, but remained cheery and upbeat following the announcement.
"Worse things have happened, losing this job isn't going to break me. I'll be just fine, don't worry about me," he said. "I'm sure I'll be able to find a job elsewhere. I'll take some time off to figure things out, and I'll be back."
Louisiana general manager said the decision was the result of a "change in organizational direction."

Adirondack Fires Manager, Brenton Will Be Replaced

The rumors turned to reality for Daniel Brenton today as he was fired as manager of the Adirondack Lumberjacks, ending weeks of speculation.
"It is the same old story. Managers are hired to be fired," Brenton said. "I ain't the first and I won't be the last."
No replacement for Brenton has been named yet.
