Cornhuskers Snatch 3-2 Win

The Corn Crib was the site of an exciting ballgame between the DeKalb Cornhuskers and Rock River Rats.
Rich Swayngim pitched well, but the Rock River Rats still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib. Bobby Avelar was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-11. The losing pitcher was Rich Swayngim. Earning his 15th save of the year was Kenny Hoyles.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from second baseman Tony Alvarez. For the game, Alvarez went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 13th double of the season gave DeKalb a 3-2 lead.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Rock River manager Shunso Sato.
DeKalb is now 67-79.
