The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at The Corn Crib.
The DeKalb Cornhuskers had to overcome a big game from Sandy Springs first baseman Nick Blalock to leave The Corn Crib with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4. Blalock was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The Cornhuskers sit in 6th place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 67-79.
Byron Mundis had a big 2-run double for the Cornhuskers in the bottom of the third inning. With DeKalb leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Tellez and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cornhuskers ahead, 5-0.
DeKalb manager Kinnojo Hara was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
