Guest Drillers Win, 6-4, at Evanston

The Beaumont Drillers polished off the Evanston Bishops by the score of 6-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to first baseman Joe Phelan. Phelan was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk for the Drillers. Alex Meza, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. Beaumont bumps their record to 63-83 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Wilson Pizano? The Beaumont left fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Drillers on top, 3-0. For the game, Pizano had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Beaumont manager Takuzo Kaneshiro was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
