Pipe Fitters Get 6-3 Win Versus Sandy Springs
|
Bill Bollard knocked in 3 runs to help the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters win, 6-3, over the Sandy Springs Spartans. Geoff Dwyer went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in quality starts with 15, struck out 3 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 12-7 this season. Steve Hoefling closed out the game, earning his 15th save.
With Niagara Falls trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Bollard hit a fastball from Jason Evans for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Pipe Fitters ahead, 3-1.
Bollard said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
Niagara Falls has won 4 consecutive games.
