Spartans Take Tight Tilt
The Sandy Springs Spartans picked up a win at The Coliseum, taking down the Carson City Mustang, 4-3. Starting pitcher Joe McGinnity was a big reason why. McGinnity, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Victor Crawford recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 8 for 10.

Brian Hill had a big run-scoring double for the Spartans in the bottom of the third inning. With Sandy Springs leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Jermão Corvite and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spartans ahead, 4-0.
