The Evanston Bishops knocked off the Spokane Bulldogs, 5-1, in TML AA action at The Kennel. Evanston pitcher and Tampico, Mexico, native Rafael Barreto had an outstanding performance. At 74-76, the Bishops find themselves in 4th place in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division.
Evanston used the hitting of Tom Janes to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bishops on top, 3-0. For the game, Janes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Barreto called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
