The Evanston Bishops beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-5, at The Corn Crib. Evanston second baseman Adam Ruma, who is tied for 4th in the TAA in triples with 7, collected 1 single and 1 double with 1 RBI. With the win, the Bishops have a record of 76-76.
Cameron Linker had a big 2-run double for the Bishops in the top of the first inning. With Evanston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Joey Lizotte and swatted a double to right. It was his 31st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bishops ahead, 3-0.
"I like our mindset right now," said Evanston manager Harold Planter.
