The Beaumont Drillers defeated the Roaring River Steelheads, 7-5, at Casino Grounds. Nate Parish, who is rated as the 62nd best prospect by BNN, was a standout performer for Beaumont. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. Mike Batten picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. Beaumont used a well-timed hit by Stan Spencer to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Drillers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
