Win Makes Pipe Fitters 92-60
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Niagara Falls and Windsor from playing their scheduled game.
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters picked up a win at Pipe Fitters Park, taking down the Windsor Royals, 6-2. Starting pitcher Jim Wallace was a big reason why. Niagara Falls is now 92-60, Windsor 96-57.
Jason McLane had a big 3-run home run for the Pipe Fitters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Niagara Falls leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher John Vornbrock and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Pipe Fitters on top, 5-0.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Wallace.
