The Sandy Springs Spartans racked up a win at Mitts Fieldhouse, bumping off the Marysville Monarchs, 5-2. Patrick Perillo, who started for Sandy Springs, pitched effectively for his team. Josh Wahl earned the save for Sandy Springs, his 41st of the year. Sandy Springs raised its record to 81-74 with the win.

Ruben Campos had a big 2-run home run for the Spartans in the top of the third inning. With Sandy Springs leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Mike Dorr, who is tied for 9th in the RAA in quality starts with 15, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Spartans on top, 4-0.
